In 1996, when craft beer was still a foreign term and San Diego County was home to only a handful of breweries, the Chapman brothers Ron and Rick opened a brewpub in their hometown of Coronado. Today CBC stays true to its San Diego roots, brewing abundantly hoppy West Coast-style ales, which are available today in 14 US states and 12 countries. In addition to the long-established pub in Coronado, the company opened a tasting room inside its San Diego production facility in 2013, and a tasting room and restaurant in Imperial Beach, California in 2014. Coronado Brewing Company was honored in 2014 with one of the brewing industry’s most prestigious awards—World Beer Cup Champion Brewery and Brewmaster for a Mid-Size Brewing Company, and more recently, a bronze medal at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival for its Weekend Vibes IPA, silver medal for its Salty Crew Blonde in 2020, and a Gold Medal for its Palm Sway IPA in 2021.

Summary: Responsible for ensuring that all equipment related to the packaging process is operated in conjunction with all Coronado Brewing Company’s SOP’s. Properly assists in packaging operations by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Packaging of product into cans, bottles or kegs following all standard operating procedures, while also being able to complete production adjustments based on the changing needs of the business.
  2. Operate all aspects of packaging including CIP, filler operation, quality checks, palletizing, and movement of finished materials.
  3. Obtaining the proper authorization to package a beer. Documentation of key quality parameters and verifying beer meets specifications.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following OSHA and company guidelines.
  5. Ability to troubleshoot packaging equipment and communicate issues to management and maintenance department, while able to perform minor preventative and appropriate maintenance on all machinery concerning quality, safety, waste monitoring, training records, and other related maintenance as necessary.
  6. Train new packaging employees proper machine operation and safety procedures
  1. Communicating with management and other packaging team members on the status of packaging.
  2. Organize, track, and audit inventory of finished beer, cans, labels, and all other packaging supplies.
  3. Tracking package quality of finished beer (dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide, total packaged oxygen, etc.)
  4. Loading and unloading trucks.
  5. Helps out with Keg Washing by ensuring that clean keg stock is kept at designated range.
  6. Ensure proper packaging inventory levels are kept up with by recording and communicating current inventory in warehouse. 
  7. Other brewery-related tasks that may require assistance.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

  2. Delivers beer, malt, hops, and empty kegs as needed to brewpub locations.*
  3. Documents on transfer sheet what items have been transferred from facility to warehouse.*

  5. Picks up and brings back any empty kegs from Coronado’s other locations.*
  6. Moves beer from one type of keg to another type.
  7. Unloads any contents from the truck such as empty kegs, pallets of bottles, equipment, glassware, and chemicals.
  8. Fills walk-in with hops as requested.
  9. Puts the empty cans onto the bottling and canning line to be filled.
  10. Takes full bottles and cans and puts in a box, tapes shut, and adds it to the pallet.
  11. Takes full pallets to the pallet wrapper.
  12. Builds mix packs of beer as necessary.
  13. Cleans facilities as needed.

Job description: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reconciling and analyzing general ledger accounts, producing monthly and annual financial entries, and supporting monthly financial reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

· Maintains and reconciles various general ledger accounts, researches supporting transaction detail, and records necessary accounting adjustments.

· Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

· Leads the analysis of manufacturing COGS analysis sheets and responsible for maintaining COGS values and margins for current product brands.

· Supports the Controller with underlying brewing production data in order to calculate reliable brewery profit analysis.

· Reviews and maintains ERP system inventory valuation, costing, on-hand inventory reporting and review and posting of inventory count adjustments.

· Prepares periodic analysis and reporting of inventory aging, inventory turns, and allowance for obsolete inventory

· Performs month-end closing process, including, but not limited to, recording routine and non-routine journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end reporting packages.

· Support the sales, brewery, and restaurant annual budget updates and variance analysis.

· Analyzes financial information to assess accuracy and completeness per departmental standards and in response to fulfillment of internal inquiries.

· Summarizes and prepares financial status and transactions reports.

· Supports team with various tax and industry compliance requirements.

· Maintains fixed assets and depreciation schedules and coordinates fixed asset tracking and audit procedures.

In this dynamic position, you will be an ambassador for our great beer, help build and maintain professional sales relationships with wholesalers, retailers, and consumers, as well as become a champion of quality assurance in the marketplace.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Market Development:

  • Achieve specified territory volume and distribution goals
  • Develop new accounts and maintain current accounts within the market
  • Communicate with retail accounts regarding brands, pricing, inventory, events, etc.
  • Become acquainted with every key decision-maker or decision influencer in your territory
  • Increase Coronado sales and brand visibility in designated territories by opening new accounts, expanding distribution, selling in features, building displays, hosting promos, and utilizing POS
  • Work with distributors on a weekly basis, plan/attend promos/staff training, land new package, and draft placements at key retailers
  • Visit a minimum of 10+ accounts a day

  • Knowledge of who key personnel are at distributor and build relationships with President/GM, sales directors, supervisors, sales reps, merchandising manager, events coordinator, operations manager, draft manager, pricing coordinator, etc
  • Develop an understanding of how our wholesaler executes in the market: point of sale orders, pulling and invoicing of samples, scheduling ride alongs, scheduling merchandiser account visits for specialty point of sale and large displays, basic policies for handling distributor bill backs, receiving monthly sales reports, scheduling time/presenting at weekly/monthly sales meetings and how sales reps and supervisors are compensated
  • Know pricing of all Coronado Brewing Company products plus general pricing of top five craft and import beer competitors in market
  • Develop market specific customer target lists
  • Partnering with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, business is growing at accounts and product freshness is maintained

Required Skills/Experience (but not limited to):
