Summary: Responsible for proper handling of products and processes by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Oversees or analyzes analytical data from beginning of fermentation to final packaged product.*
  2. Maintains and reports product conformance to engineering and customer specifications through inspection of raw materials and works in progress.*
  3. Maintains and tracks yeast for proper fermentation and quality.*
  4. Reports and tracks any significant deviations from quality standards and recommends corrective action to appropriate management.*
  5. Understands new product development to ensure proper quality assurance and control plans can be implemented prior to beginning production.*
  6. Reviews production processes for conformance to quality standards.*
  7. Establishes information for employees on quality issues and develops programs to encourage each employee to perform quality control as part of operations.*
  8. Maintains cleanliness and organization in lab at all times.*
  9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Nexcelom.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
